American Financial Group Elects New Board Members

American Financial Group, Inc. (AFG) has made significant strides in its governance by announcing the election of Craig Lindner Jr. and David Thompson to its esteemed Board of Directors. This strategic move is aimed at enhancing the board’s expertise and oversight capabilities.

As part of this transition, James Evans has decided not to stand for reelection at the upcoming 2025 Annual Meeting of Shareholders. However, he will continue to play a vital role within the company as an Executive Consultant, a position he has held since 2014.

Craig Lindner brings an impressive 20 years of experience in the realms of real estate investing and insurance. He has been instrumental in overseeing AFG’s substantial investments in both real estate equity and debt. Since joining AFG in 2002, he has excelled as the Divisional President of AFG Real Estate Investments since 2017, where he is responsible for managing the company’s diverse portfolio, which includes apartments, resort and marina properties, various commercial real estate ventures, and a large array of commercial mortgages.

On the other hand, David Thompson has been with AFG since 2006 and has held numerous senior management roles throughout his tenure. He currently holds the position of Chairman of the Board, as well as President and Chief Operating Officer of Great American Insurance Company, which is AFG’s flagship property and casualty insurer.

In a joint statement, Carl H. Lindner III and S.
