AXA XL Appoints Sylvie Gleises as Regional CEO for Asia

Global (re)insurance leader AXA XL has announced the appointment of Sylvie Gleises as the new Regional CEO for Asia, effective March 24. This leadership change marks a significant transition as Gleises steps into the role, succeeding Gilles Fromageot, who will now take on the position of CEO at AXA Morocco and CIMA.

While assuming her new responsibilities, Gleises will also maintain her role as CEO of AXA XL Singapore. Since her relocation to Singapore in 2021, she has been commended for her efforts in fortifying AXA XL’s market presence within a highly competitive landscape.

“I am confident that under her leadership, we will further strengthen our position as a trusted partner, delivering tailored solutions that support our clients and brokers across the region,” said Xavier Veyry, Regional CEO for APAC and Europe.

Gleises has been with the AXA Group for nearly two decades, holding several prominent leadership roles. These include CEO of Continental Europe, global head of distribution and marketing at AXA Art, and head of revenue synergies at AXA XL. Prior to her current position, she held various senior roles in France, augmenting her extensive experience within the company.

Her professional journey is underpinned by robust academic credentials, with a degree from ESCP French business school and a master’s from the London School of Economics. Beyond her corporate duties, Gleises is actively engaged in business leadership circles, serving as president of the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore and participating on the global advisory board of TEFAF.
