Axa XL Announces Promotion of Simon Rees
Axa XL, a prominent division of Axa SA, has officially announced the promotion of Simon Rees to the position of Chief Underwriting Officer for North America Programs, effective April 1. This significant move underscores the company’s commitment to leadership and expertise in the insurance sector.
Prior to this new role, Mr. Rees served as the Chief Reserving Actuary for the Americas, a position that he held with distinction. He is based in New York and will report directly to Tim Whisler, who leads the wholesale solutions division.
Mr. Rees joined Axa XL in 2017, initially working from London as the Head of Reinsurance Reserving for both the international and London regions. His journey with the company saw him relocate to New York in 2021, where he took on the role of Deputy Chief Actuary for the Americas. He was subsequently promoted to Chief Actuary in 2022, showcasing his remarkable growth and contributions to the organization.
