Canopius Group, a global specialty and property & casualty insurer and reinsurer, has announced the appointment of Candace Steele as Group Risk Director. She will be responsible for coordinating the company’s risk framework.
Role and Responsibilities
Steele will lead the Group Risk function and collaborate with Business Unit CROs to enhance Canopius’ global approach to risk. Her role will be pivotal in driving the company’s risk management strategy.
Executive Background
With over two decades of experience in risk, compliance, and regulatory matters within complex global insurance environments, Steele brings valuable expertise to Canopius.
Prior to joining Canopius, she spent six years at CG Insurance as Chief Compliance and Risk Officer, where she successfully managed a period of significant expansion and growth through acquisition.
She also worked at Validus Holdings for eight years, eventually rising to the position of Group Compliance Officer, where she led strategy for enterprise-wide risk and compliance management.
