President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan presented plaques to various institutions, organizations, and representatives of the private sector who contributed to the construction and revival efforts in the region following the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023.
The ceremony took place after the “We Unite: Commemoration Program for the February 6 Earthquakes” held at the Adıyaman Youth and Sports Directorate Sports Hall. Here, 42 representatives from various sectors who contributed to the “unity of the century” received their plaques from President Erdoğan.
During the ceremony, a plaque was awarded to Taha Çakmak, General Manager of Türkiye Sigorta, for the significant work carried out by Türkiye Sigorta after the earthquake. In the plaque presentation, President Erdoğan highlighted Türkiye Sigorta’s profitability and successes in the sector.
Türkiye Sigorta stated in its posts on social media platforms, “We will continue to stand by the people of the affected regions with the strength we derive from our name.” This statement emphasized the institution’s commitment to social responsibility projects.
The plaque included the following expressions along with the symbol of the Anatolian carnation:
“The exemplary solidarity, philanthropy, and sacrifices you displayed during the disaster of the century, which will never be erased from our memories, will always be remembered and will serve as an inspiration for our children, who are the guarantee of our future.”
Such organizations once again demonstrated that society must act in unity and solidarity. President Erdoğan’s meaningful presentation emphasized the importance of supporting earthquake victims.
