Chubb’s Leadership Transition
Global insurance giant Chubb has unveiled significant leadership changes within its ranks. Ana Robic, currently serving as Division President of Personal Risk Services (PRS) in North America, will transition to the role of Regional President for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), effective April 1, 2025. She will be stepping into the shoes of David Furby, who will assume the position of Executive Chairman.
Ana Robic’s Extensive Experience
Ana Robic has dedicated 25 years of her career to Chubb. Her recent appointment as Division President of Chubb PRS in 2021 followed a successful tenure as the business’s Chief Operating Officer. Prior to leading PRS, she held pivotal roles in Chubb’s Canadian operations, including positions in Commercial Insurance, the Underwriting Center, and the Excess and Umbrella division. In her new capacity, Robic will oversee Chubb’s European business, encompassing operations in the United Kingdom, continental Europe, Chubb Global Markets, the Middle East, and Africa. She will report directly to Paul McNamee, Executive Vice President of Chubb Group and President of Chubb Overseas General Insurance.
David Furby’s Transition
With over 40 years of industry experience, David Furby has been a cornerstone of Chubb’s EMEA business. Previously, he served as Division President of Property and Casualty, Overseas General Insurance in both New York and London, and held the role of Regional President of Continental Europe. He joined ACE Group (now Chubb) in 1996. As Executive Chairman, Furby will offer strategic oversight of Chubb’s general insurance business, focusing on strategy and governance. He will maintain his role as a member of Chubb’s European Group Board and continue chairing its Underwriting Risk Committee.
Statements from Chubb’s Leadership
Paul McNamee expressed his enthusiasm over these leadership changes, stating, “These appointments and expanded responsibilities highlight Chubb’s rich pool of talent, characterized by long-tenured executives ready to embrace new challenges. I am thrilled to welcome Ana into Chubb Overseas General and our leadership team in the region. Her accomplishments and deep underwriting expertise are highly respected within Chubb.”
He further extended his gratitude to David Furby for his leadership in Europe, remarking, “Under David’s guidance, our business has flourished significantly, becoming a key pillar of performance within our international operations.”
North America Leadership
Juan Luis Ortega, Executive Vice President of Chubb Group and President of Chubb North America, acknowledged Ana Robic’s remarkable achievements, stating, “Under Ana’s stewardship, PRS North America has consistently delivered robust results and enhanced the operational capabilities of our company. Her appointment is a testament to Chubb’s commitment to global talent mobility.”
Stepping into the role of President of PRS will be Melissa Scheffler, currently the Chief Operating Officer of PRS. She will also assume the title of Vice President of Chubb Group and will report to Ortega. Ortega praised Scheffler, saying, “Melissa has consistently set new standards of excellence at Chubb, and I am confident she will continue to do so as the leader of PRS. Her deep involvement in all facets of PRS as COO makes her uniquely equipped to steer the business forward.”
