Effective immediately, Khera will transition into his expanded leadership role as Head of Marine and Energy. He will report to Nevill once he officially joins AXA XL later this year. Having served as the Global Chief Underwriting Officer – Marine Hull and the Head of Marine Underwriting, UK & Lloyd’s since 2021, Khera brings a wealth of experience to the table.

Mike Gosselin, commenting on the appointments, stated, “This marks an exciting phase in the evolution of the UK’s underwriting sector. By consolidating these products under one unified specialty pillar, we aim to enhance collaboration with brokers across all levels, thereby strengthening our relationships and enhancing our capability to meet our clients’ diverse needs.”

Both Louise and Sundeep are highly esteemed figures in the industry. Nevill, in particular, is expected to play a crucial role in invigorating our entire specialty function while preserving underwriting discipline and optimizing profitability.

Nevill joins AXA XL from Marsh, where she was the CEO of Marine, Cargo, and Logistics, Marsh Specialty UK, a position she held for over five years. With nearly three decades of experience in both broking and underwriting, Nevill is a seasoned marine underwriter who has transitioned into specialty underwriting management.

Khera, who has been part of AXA since 2023, has held various roles in shipping operations, stowage planning, and commercial and general management. As a Master Mariner, his extensive sailing experience spans commercial vessels, including crude tankers, product tankers, and bulk carriers.
