Leadership Changes at UK P&I Club: Strengthening Operations in Athens and London

The UK P&I Club, a leading provider of protection and indemnity insurance for the global shipping industry, has announced significant leadership transitions in their Athens and London offices.

Sean Geraghty will be returning to the Club’s London headquarters in April, where he will assume the position of Claims Operations Director. After a successful tenure as Regional Director for Greece for more than two years, Geraghty will now focus on spearheading the Club’s worldwide claims initiatives. His responsibilities will include collaborating with senior leadership to enhance claims operations and drive improvements in both processes and services.

Taking over the role of Regional Director for Greece will be Philip Clacy, who is set to return to the Piraeus office after spending 15 years in London. In his new capacity, Clacy will continue to deliver exceptional support to the UK Club’s Greek members while also maintaining his global responsibilities for the Club’s services.

Commenting on these appointments, Andrew Taylor, Chief Executive Officer of UK P&I, stated, “We are thrilled to welcome Sean back to our London office in his new capacity as Claims Operations Director. Under his leadership in Greece, we have bolstered our team and established a dedicated regional service model that offers unmatched support to our Members and brokers.”

Taylor added, “We are equally excited for Philip Clacy’s return to Greece as Regional Director. His previous experience in the region combined with his global operational expertise will be an invaluable asset as we continue to build and develop the strongest P&I team in Athens.”

Expressing his enthusiasm, Clacy remarked, “Piraeus remains a pivotal hub with its unique characteristics and robust sense of community, while the wider Greek maritime sector continues to excel. It is vital that the Club delivers services and fosters relationships that resonate with the market’s dynamism. I eagerly anticipate returning to Athens to renew old connections and forge new ones, propelling our Greek team to new heights.”

Geraghty added, “Working with our Members in Greece over the recent years has been a rewarding experience. I now look forward to collaborating with the leadership team to ensure we have the advanced operational infrastructure necessary to remain the top choice for exceptional service and value across our global network of claims specialists.”
