Tom Meyer has been appointed as the Head of the Specialty Division in London at Lockton Re, the reinsurance arm of independent insurance broker Lockton. He succeeds Paul Upton, who will now serve as Chairman for the unit.
Since 2023, Meyer has been the Managing Director of Specialty at Gallagher Re. Previously, he was the Chief Executive Officer at Chord Re, joining the business in 2017 as Chief Underwriting Officer. His experience includes leading Aspen Re’s specialty lines and the Bermuda business, as well as roles at Allianz Re and Wills Re.
Meyer commented, “I could not be more enthusiastic about the opportunity at Lockton Re and the high calibre of my new colleagues, who have built a reputation for being instrumental partners to clients in many niche and complex specialty classes.
