Mt. Logan Capital Management Strengthens Leadership with New Appointment

Mt. Logan Capital Management, Ltd., the third-party capital management division of Everest Group, Ltd., is pleased to announce the appointment of Sun Siang Liew as its new Chief Analytics Officer. In this strategic role, Liew will be responsible for overseeing portfolio management and actuarial analytics, and he will report directly to John Modin, the CEO of MLCM.

John Modin expressed his enthusiasm about the new addition, stating, “I am delighted to welcome Sun to the MLCM team. His extensive experience in portfolio management, analytics, and optimization will greatly enhance our Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS) team.” Modin further noted, “Sun’s deep understanding of reinsurance-affiliated manager offerings will be invaluable as we work to refine our tailored strategies and develop innovative products to meet the objectives of our investors, facilitating MLCM’s ongoing growth.”

Before joining MLCM, Liew held the position of Senior Vice President of Portfolio Analytics at RenaissanceRe, a role he assumed following its acquisition of Validus Re. At Validus Re, Liew was a pivotal member of the management team for AlphaCat Managers, the company’s third-party capital affiliate. His leadership in portfolio analytics was crucial in shaping investor portfolio construction and product development.

Youssef Sfaif, the President and Chief Operating Officer of MLCM, commented on the appointment, “As we broaden our offerings, Sun’s expertise will empower investors with sophisticated analytics tools, enabling them to assess and monitor Everest-sponsored strategies through MLCM. This addition further strengthens our investor-focused platform.”
