Mike Thorp has been appointed as the head of the space underwriting division, reporting directly to Sinead Cormican, the deputy active underwriter for Syndicate 4000. Thorp, who has been with Hamilton since 2015, played a crucial role in establishing the company’s space underwriting program in 2016. With an impressive 24 years of experience in technical and underwriting roles within the space insurance sector, his expertise is set to drive further innovation and growth in this niche market.
Chris Golder has also joined the leadership team as the head of treaty underwriting, with reporting responsibilities to Miles Osorio, the active underwriter for Syndicate 4000. Golder, who became part of Hamilton’s treaty insurance team in February 2023, brings with him a robust background of 16 years in the insurance industry, including a decade specifically focused on underwriting. His insights and experience are expected to enhance the company’s treaty operations significantly.
These leadership changes are part of Hamilton’s broader strategy to cultivate internal talent, ensuring sustained growth in its specialized insurance operations.
