PartnerRe Welcomes Ruth Damian as Senior Client Partner for North America Life Financial Solutions
Bermuda-based reinsurer PartnerRe has made a significant addition to its team by appointing Ruth Damian as the new Senior Client Partner for North America Life Financial Solutions. The announcement was made by Chris Shanahan, CEO of Life and Health at PartnerRe, through a LinkedIn post, where he expressed his enthusiasm: “Very excited to have Ruth be the latest great talent to join PartnerRe.”
Ruth Damian brings with her an impressive background, boasting over 25 years of experience within the insurance and reinsurance sectors. Her expertise lies particularly in managing both domestic and international reinsurance agreements for leading life insurers and reinsurers. Prior to joining PartnerRe, she was with SCOR, where she held the position of Assistant Vice President of Financial Solutions.
Before her role at SCOR, Damian served as the Structured Reinsurance Finance Lead at Brighthouse Financial. She has also held senior positions at MetLife and the Reinsurance Group of America, further solidifying her extensive industry knowledge and skills.

This month, AM Best reaffirmed the A+ (Superior) financial strength rating for PartnerRe Ltd.’s subsidiaries, along with a long-term issuer credit rating of “aa-” (Superior). Additionally, PartnerRe Ltd.’s long-term issuer credit rating remains at “a-” (Excellent), reflecting the company’s solid financial foundation.
