Support from Anadolu Sigorta to Tohum Autism Foundation

Anadolu Sigorta has taken an important step by renewing the special education classroom for autistic students at Çakmak Şehit Mahmut Coşkunsu Middle School on February 7, as part of the Tohum Autism Foundation’s “Every Class a Seed” project. This project aims to ensure that individuals with autism receive education in better conditions.

Recognized for its success in the insurance sector, Anadolu Sigorta also contributes to society through sustainability and social responsibility projects. In this context, in collaboration with the Tohum Autism Foundation, it has renewed the special education classroom for autistic students at Çakmak Şehit Mahmut Coşkunsu Middle School, where it previously established a library under the “Anadolu Sigorta Libraries” project.

The opening ceremony was attended by Anadolu Sigorta’s Corporate Communication and Sustainability Coordinator Berna Semiz Ergüntan and Tohum Autism Foundation’s Corporate Communication Director Nihan Güney. This initiative by Anadolu Sigorta raises awareness of the importance of education, which is the only known cure for autism, providing valuable support for individuals with autism to receive education.

Under the “Every Class a Seed” project carried out by the Tohum Autism Foundation across Turkey, access to education for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is supported with the contribution of Anadolu Sigorta. With this project, another special education classroom has been added, bringing the total number of classrooms to 199.

The “Every Class a Seed” project aims to increase the access of autistic children studying in special education classrooms to quality education. Within the scope of the project:

  • Educational materials and technological devices are provided to special education classrooms.
  • Special education programs are implemented for teachers, student families, all students receiving education at the school, and school management.
  • Throughout the year, a “teacher network” has been established to update teachers’ knowledge and evaluate their feedback, providing continuous support to teachers.
