Leadership Changes
Katie McGrath will become chief underwriting officer of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, effective June 1. She succeeds Kera McDonald, who has been named Swiss Re’s group CUO, also effective June 1.
Ms. McGrath, currently CEO North America, joined Swiss Re Corporate Solutions in 2019 as head of accident and health for North America. She will continue to be based in New York, reporting to Ivan Gonzalez, CEO of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.
Ms. McDonald, based in Zurich, joined Swiss Re in 2006 and has held various specialist and leadership roles. She was a 2020 Business Insurance EMEA Women to Watch winner.
Restructuring Across Market Units
Swiss Re’s commercial insurance arm will restructure its business across market units to serve companies and brokers at the country level. Adrian Hall, currently head of U.K., Ireland, South Africa, and EMEA wholesale, will head up the U.S. market unit for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions in New York.

- Asia (greater China, Japan, Southeast Asia): Robert Hunsiker, based in Singapore.
- Australia and New Zealand: Kevin Bates, Sydney.
- Canada: James Gasco, Toronto.
- France: Bruno Mostermans, Paris.
- Germany (including Austria): Tina Baacke, Munich.
- Ibero-America, Middle East & Africa: Angelo Colombo, Madrid.
- Switzerland, Benelux, Nordics, Italy: Michael Rüsch, Zurich.
- U.K. and Ireland: Nina Arquint, London.
All of the market heads will report to Mr. Gonzalez. The new structure is expected to take effect June 1.
