Westfield Specialty International, a provider of specialty insurance, has announced the promotion of Jeremy Shallow to the position of Chief Underwriting Officer and Active Underwriter for Syndicate 1200, pending regulatory approval.
In his new role, Shallow will report directly to Graham Evans, Executive Vice President and Head of International Insurance at Westfield Specialty International.

Shallow brings two decades of experience in the financial services industry to this new role. Prior to joining Syndicate 1200, he served as Deputy Head of Credit and Political Risk at Aspen, and he began his career in banking at WestLB.
Leadership Comments
Evans commented: “The appointment of an internal candidate to this key strategic role is indicative of the depth of our underwriting talent and the investment we have made in building a strong team to lead our international operation.
This not only showcases our underwriting bench strength but also the opportunities provided for professional progression at Westfield Specialty International, a business backed by a ‘mutual’ structure that prioritises stable, long-term growth, alongside long-term investment in its people.”
Shallow’s Vision
Shallow, CUO, added: “I am delighted to take on this role with an underwriting group that I know so well, and am excited about the opportunity to move forwards with Graham and the team on our upwards trajectory.
The breadth and depth of underwriting leadership we have created in the past few years allows us to build on our existing strong foundations, and together I believe we present a compelling proposition for our brokers and clients.”
